Katsina Times, Thursday, October 30, 2025 —
Traders and leaders of Chake Market in Katsina metropolis have organised an appreciation ceremony in honour of their colleague, Alhaji Mannir Ayuba Sullubawa, the Director-General of the Katsina State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (KEWMA).
The event, led by Alhaji Saminu Aliyu, was aimed at showing gratitude and reaffirming support for Alhaji Sullubawa and the All Progressives Congress (APC)–led administration for the assistance and attention given to traders and residents in the area.
Speaking during the event, market leaders described Sullubawa as a community-minded leader who has made notable contributions to the development of Katsina Central Constituency (Yamma I). They pledged their continued support for him and his developmental initiatives.
The traders also appealed to the KEWMA Director-General to convey their requests to the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, calling for government support to traders affected by a fire incident that occurred during the last Ramadan period. They noted that many of the victims were still struggling to recover their lost capital.
In his remarks, the Councillor representing Katsina Central Ward I, Hon. Salahudden Nura, reaffirmed their solidarity with Governor Radda’s administration, commending both the governor and Sullubawa for their efforts in improving the lives of citizens.
“We appreciate Governor Radda for the ongoing road expansion from Kofar Soro to Kofar Guga and other developmental projects across the state,” he said.
Responding, Alhaji Mannir Ayuba Sullubawa expressed gratitude to the traders for the recognition, describing the honour as a collective achievement for the entire Katsina Central community.
He assured them of his continued commitment to development efforts in the area and pledged to sustain support for the state government’s people-oriented programmes.
“Governor Dikko Radda’s only mission is to serve the people, and I remain committed to contributing to the progress and welfare of our constituency,” Sullubawa stated.
